IP verification when logging in to Loket

Volgen

To further increase the security of user accounts, Loket may ask for additional verification when logging in. This check is performed when logging in from an IP address that hasn't been recognized before.

What happens during login?
Logging in from a new or unrecognized IP address? Then Loket will ask for extra verification before granting access.

The login process works as follows:

  1. Log in with your username and password.
  2. You'll receive an email with a 6-digit verification code.
  3. Enter this code on the verification screen.
  4. Once verified successfully, you'll get access to Loket.

The verification code is valid for 10 minutes.

Are you using two-factor authentication (2FA)?
If two-factor authentication is enabled, the IP verification is carried out first, followed by the regular 2FA check.

The order is then:

  1. Username and password.
  2. Verification code by email.
  3. 2FA code.
  4. Access to Loket.

I haven't received a verification code
First check your Junk or Spam folder. Also check that the correct email address is linked to your user account.

Still not receiving the email? Please contact the person within your organization responsible for user management in Loket.

When is IP verification not applied?
In the following situations, no email verification screen will appear:

  • You're not logging in to Loket, but to something else, such as MijnLoket.
  • You're logging in via a passwordless method, such as a Magic Link or an SSO connection.
  • You're using two-factor authentication and have previously marked the device as trusted.
  • Your account is configured to require setting up two-factor authentication first.
  • The IP address used is already recognized.
